Title:
False Memory Archive: A full deck of hand-painted reverse colour playing cards, 2013.
Description:
As per title. The work was inspired by a 1949 experiment by Bruner and Postman called On The Perception of Incongruity, where participants were exposed to anomalous, reverse colour playing cards in amongst normal playing cards, to see if they could perceive the difference. Bruner and Postman didn't have the necessary funds to print the reverse cards, so they simply hand-painted the new colour over the old.
