False Memory Archive: Public Submissions. Volume 1. 2012-2014

 

Description:

During the development of the False Memory Archive A.R. Hopwood collected submissions from the public that responded to the prompt: "Submit a false memory. It can belong to you or someone else". Contributions were collected via hand-written self-fill forms at the Wellcome Collection, Wellcome Trust and Freud Museum London. They were also collected online via the project website and an anthology publication of 500 of the submissions is available here.

 

Medium:

A5 card self fill forms, original emails, word document, archived website.

 

Archival Information

The self-fill forms were printed on 300gsm card and submissions are written in pen and pencil. All submissions are transcribed in a word document which will be made available alongside copies of the original online submissions.

 

Packing details

The hand-written forms are stored a cardboard box size 410/410/410mm.

Digital files will be given to the library on SD card. 

 

Additional information:

Hopwood will work with the library to provide free access to the full original, unedited selection of false memories from the first volume of the False Memory Archive. A digital and hard copy of the collection will be made available alongside archived details of the original project website. For more information please see the proposal page of this website.
